SHEIKH ABDULLAH August 28, 1938:   He submitted to Maharaja of Kashmir a charter of demands for granting a democratic constitution committed to the welfare of the common people of Kashmir; the Maharaja did not endorse these demands. This led to the arrest and imprisonment of Sheikh Abdulla and many of his companions.
